Agriculture & Resource Management
The Agriculture and Natural Resource Management program provides non-biased, research-based educational programs and services for both homeowners and commercial producers. Services offered by extension personnel include soil testing, insect identification, plant disease diagnosis, and pest management recommendations for agricultural operations. We also offer educational publications covering a wide range of agricultural topics. Sussex County extension staff members offer programs that are designed to increase profitability, reduce environmental impact, and to improve the lives of the residents of Sussex County. Staff members work closely with various commodity groups, civic clubs, and local governmental agencies to promote agriculture in New Jersey. In addition to traditional agricultural topics, residents may request information about home gardening, lawn care, and training opportunities through the Rutgers NJAES Master Gardener program.
